Toda minha expectativa foi plenamente satisfeita graças a atenção e a cordialidade de vocês do RMSC. Apesar da curta temporada e do meu despreparo pude deixar acesa minha relação com o mar. Agora começa o sonho de uma temporada maior no Panamá - conhecendo também outras ondas e onde possa estar melhor preparado combinando com a entrada de swell. Comments: My wife and two young sons 6 and 8 spent a few days at the surf camp last week. It was great, fun had by all. The easy going helpfull staff, kick back atm was great. Surf break was good both for me and the kids. We enjoyed surfing, playing in the pool, movies via satalite TV, good music, and walks on the beach. Thank you. David |

Comments: If your thinking of going to Panama, you have to visit Alan at Rio Mar. He is the coolest local in Panama, he took me to endless right hand point breaks with little or no people out. It was perfect, i stayed by him for two weeks, and we partied and surf like it was going out of style. I've travel a lot in Central and South America and i am going back to vist Rio Mar agian. Comments: We stayed at Rio Mar Surf Camp in March and absolutely loved it. Met so many other wonderful travelers. Alan, the owner, couldn't have been nicer and made us all feel at home. Some of our best memories in Panama are from lounging at Rio Mar. The acomodations were comfortable - tons of hammocks everywhere and clean little pool. Comments: Riomar Surf Camp is an awesome camp. Alan has everything that you need right there at the camp. One of the best waves in the area is right out front and theres a ton of other great waves in the surronding area. The locals are cool and laid back and the city is only an hour drive away. A great surf vacation if thats what your looking for. There are waves almost every day. |

Anyway, we can recommend this camp to everyone, even if you surf or not (my wife does not!). It is a perfect place to hang out, meet people from all over and generally take it easy (we loved the satelite tv with surround sound!). Well, now we are back in Norway waiting for the powder snow!! Comments: Rio Mar Surf Camp is a great place to kick off your Panama Surf adventure.The camp is located only a short drive from the airport.Once @ the camp I found the facilities to be clean and comfortable.Alan the owner is most accommadating.The people that your bound to meet if you come to this camp are some of the best surfers and skaters in the country.Also super cool and welcoming.Lot's of talent both female and male.The skate ramp needs to be fixed but it's still fun.There is 2 spots in front of the camp for surfing with a long beach.One is excellent for swimming and learning to surf.The other is the point which is a quality right hander that's quite rippable.Needs a good swell to show it's teeth I think but fun whenever it's breaking! Over all I found the camp to be a great experience with the middle of the week being my favorite time to hang out. NO CROWDS. Drop me a line if you have any questions. |

Comments: I was fortunate enough to be stationed in Panama in the early 70's and early 80's. I consistently surfed Rio Mar on the weekends. There were very few weekends when there were no waves. Even when it was flat the incoming tide usually produced small sand bar waves. I return to Panama every 2 years being that my wife is from La Chorrera. It's not only the waves but the total atmosphere of Rio Mar is so intoxicating. Being career military I have been all over the world but some of the best experiences of my life were at Rio Mar. DJH |

I totally recommend staying at the Surf Camp, if you do or don't surf. It's great!!! Comments: Hola pelaos, les escribimos para agradecerles el increible surfari que nos organizaron. El surf camp es optimo estuvimos muy bien acomodados en las cabanas con su bano privado y hasta el lujo del aire acondicionado por un precio muy bueno .Mario (el cuidador) es un grande y siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar con la mejor sonrisa y buena onda. El surf camp esta super bien ubicado cerca de uno de los points mas activos de la zona (riomar point) donde tira una derecha de buen nivel y a donde se llega caminando por una playa increible (con marea baja). Allan (su dueno) is not only a great surfer but also a great guy who is behind you for to cover your needs. Nosotros teniamos muy poco tiempo asi que contratamos un surf guide que fue lo maximo su nombre: el Vampiro. El men es uno de los mejores surfistas de la region y es conocido por todos los locales que lo respetan por su buena onda y su mejor nivel de surf. En pocas palabras we had a blast.

Comments: Es algo muy novedoso para nosotros los surfistas de alma el conocer una vista diaria de las olas en las playas de panama,aunque no estemos alli. Facilitarnos tomar una decisión desisiva para cuando vamos a correr en una verdadera playa con el poder de una ola comparada con Bocas del Toro. Comments: Just spent 8 days at Rio Mar Surf camp and had a great time. Summer was just starting and it was dry and had an offshore wind. Swell was small but ridable then got bigger and bigger!, nice variety of breaks within 30 minutes of the camp. Good river mouth beach break(R and L) and nice shallow rocky point break too a 5-10 minute walk from the camp (Right mostly). Rooms are small and simple, but clean. About a 5 minute walk to the beach
Alan the owner is a good guy and a good long boarder too! The camp has a few decnt boards to rent. Mostly fun board length and a couple of lon boards too. I used the Erie Peel 9-0 and enjoyed it. Sorry about the nose bash Alan...I had a great time and look forward to going again! |
